Atrocious Goat Cruelty
Share
Jessie the goat was cruelly dumped from a car and thrown into a ditch on Thompson Road, Cranbourne, by a heartless man on a 38‑degree day, left to die. Fortunately, she was spotted by a passing motorist, Jason, who quickly made a U‑turn to check if the animal was still alive. She was — but very limp, barely able to keep her eyes open. Jason immediately contacted us.
Our founder, Sharon, together with volunteer Josh, rushed to her aid, administering IV fluids, a Vitamin B injection, and a strong dose of antibiotics. Jessie’s condition was critical: she was emaciated, dehydrated, and unable to hold her head up. It took five days before she could walk three metres without collapsing.
Barrie Tapp of 1800 Animal Cruelty reported the act to Sergeant Gavin Buchan at Cranbourne Police Station and contacted local newspapers in the hope of finding answers.
After three weeks of intensive treatment and care from Sharon and our dedicated volunteers, Jessie was running around happily, even helping prune the rose bushes. She has since moved to Clunes, Victoria, where she now lives as a healthy, cherished, and thoroughly spoilt goat.
